It's all old news!

Or if you don't want to be here click on this!

Or this.......

21st of September, 2002

O.K., no real pressing new news.  We're still a band.  I'm sure you're all real glad to hear that.  As you've probably seen We got some new gigs lined up for October.  It'll be a busy month.  So we'll hopefully see ya'll at some, or all of them.

Some other news:  Just in>>>>  Lili's is closing forever!  September 30th will be their last day.  After that their doors will be closed forever.  Not that we really care.  The last few times that we tried to get a gig there (about the last year or more) we kept getting the runaround.  Art just didn't know what to do with us.  That's what he had said.  None of the established bands that play there wanted to jam with us.  I guess pissing off Tim Pop and his supper rock star band, the Bomb Pops, has kept us out of at least one place.  Oh well.  Good riddance Lilli's 21.  Sorry we just didn't match your bill.  It would have been nice to fit in......  NOT!

O.K.  I was hoppin' that our next CD wasn't goin' to be a major production but it has been.  It's been worth the wait though.  I think we finally got all the recording done.  There was some cleanup and backing vocals that was holding us up.  Now its up to Psycho to finish all the mixing.  We've heard a few songs and it's really sounding good.  It's so good we might even go back and remix our first CD, 2001:  A Punk Odyssey.  Now we got to get some art for it.  That's going to be up to Jesse Lawbreaker.  He's quite the artist and he's got some renderings that he's going to be doing up for us.  We're going to be using them for the hole cover.  All that's still in the concept stage.  More news latter.

Well, our bootleg is still out.  Digital Doo-Doo. (a.k.a. The 3D album).  We're going to be charging about $5 per copy (depending on the price of the beer).  Or if you bug us enough it'll be free.  If there's anybody out there that wants a copy contact us on our booking line (810)335-0676 or e-mail us at www.theballistics13@hotmail.com   We'll see what we can do to get you a copy or a whole bunch if you want.  Keep in mind this is a live cd.  Its from one of our shows last spring that we did down at Scalici's in Allen Park.  Its got about 45 minutes of tunes on it.  That works out to about 18 songs, or there abouts.

Hey everybody!!!!  Thanks for stoppen' by last night at the Marz Bar in Eastpointe and makin' it one of the best shows for us in a while.  Allot of friends stoppen' by and some new people that just happened to be there really got into some of the "Nastiest Punk Rock in Detroit!!".  Special thanks to Manics Rage for being really kewl to jam with last night.  You guys rocked!  Another special thanks goes out to the Lawbreakers for always stoppen' by!  We got the word from the club that we're going to be able to play there again.  That's quit special 'cause it seems that the last few shows have been just hell!!  Gettin' kick outa'da place or fights closing down the show or the bar not even opening.  We finally got to finish our set that we've been practicing on for the last two months.  The club was a little flaky about the noise.  We had to turn it way down or they'd close us down.  We got our levels set and we took off from there.  Thanks to the staff for makin' it a safe show.  NOT!  We would have preferred a little violence and blood letting, but the club would have none of it.  Oh well.  The Lawbreakers were there to push the limits and the "She Mullet" showed up and after 3 attempts to touch Stinks pipi got kicked outa'da place.  This was just a good old fashion killer show.  Thanks everybody fer stoppen' by and makin' it happen with us!!

Our next show ain't for a while.  September is going to be a slow month for us.  We have a tentative thing planned for early October at the Old Miami.  We'll be spending most of this next month finishing up our long awaited CD.  We'll be seein' ya'll!!!

Well, we SUCK, the Farley's SUCK, the Ghoul's SUCK, the Smashbandits SUCK and Manics Rage SUCK!!!!  We all SUCK so bad that when we finally get a show put together with a bunch of great bands all doin' some really great gutter/crusty punk the bar decides to put a pad lock on the door and close down (or sumtin'??)  That must have been quit the site fer all the locals down there in Ham-town.  5 Punk bands standin' out on Caniff wonderin' what we were agoin' ta do.  Everybody wuz all geeked up to do some playin' but this S***!!!  After some quick thinkin'  we all decided to git on over to Dusty's place and make us a party.  The Farley's took off but that's cool.  Nobody could blame anybody for not wantin' to do anything after bein' let down like this.  We wish they would have been up to it, but hey.....  What da F*** .  It turned out to be quit the blow out over at daddy D's place.  Smashbandits, the Ghouls, Manics Rage, special guests the Lawbreakers and then the Ballistics jammed into the night and everything made for a classic style house party.  Every band was in top form and can be considered true Masters of the "Crusty punk" sound...DETROIT style!!!  We hope everybody got into it all.  We sure had a great time.  We look forward to jammin' with all the bands that stuck with it and made the night even better than we could have imagined by just playin' at a F***'d up S*** hole club in Ham-town called the Indigo.  Suck our collective C***'s!!!

Our next show is gonna' be at the Marz Bar in Eastpointe on the 24th of August.  We've been there a few times before.  We feel a bit out of place there but it's been always good time.  They put up with us.  We appreciate them lettin' us come out and jam.  Also appearing will be Manics Rage.  Hopefully we'll be able to finish a show from beginning to end with those dudes (and chick) one of these days.  See ya'll there!!!!

Elbow Room Rocks!  We were a little miss matched out there last night, but we still had a good time.  There was "10 Center", from someplace I don't remember....  Then "GROG" from that cereal town out west of here, An' then der was dis Pittsburgh band called "Endless".  Everybody was pretty kewl out there.  Allot better that some Cleveland band's we know of.  Everybody was doing somethin' a little bit different but hey!!!!  IT'S ALL 'BOUT DA MUSIC!!  We'd like to have dat Pitt band hook us up wit a show in Pittsburgh.  Maybe not wit dem, but someplace.  We've tried getting a show out der a few times but it's kinda hard to get somebody to book ya in out there.  I guess that's the good thing about Detroit.  There are allot of places that will bring in out of town bands with no prior experience playin' here in the city.  Good time's!!!  Peace to ya'll

Our next show is at the Indigo in Ham-town wit da Farley's at 8:30, the Smashbandits at 9:30, the Ghouls at 10:30, Manics Rage at 11:30, then the Ballistics (us) at 12:30.  This is a new place for us all and I thinks it's an 18 and up club.  So be der!!!!  No fericken' excuses!!

15th of July, 2002

Another show has come and gone.  The Farleys absolutely rocked!!!   And even Liquid Chicken was soundin' really great this night.  We did pretty good also.  I mean after the vomit fest on stage, sponsored by Psycho and Stink, and instigated by 400 hard broiled eggs and 4 nasty tastin shoots supplied by Liquid Chicken.  Then there was this 4th band, I think they were from Cleveland, but I always thought Cleveland was a kewl town.  This band sounded O.K. but we didn't see enough of them to form a solid opinion.  They kinda' showd' up, played, an' left.  Rather rude if you axs me.  I believe that "The Corridor" scart' dem a little bit.  That's O.K., we didn't really want to play in a homo infested village on the south shore of Lake Erie with a band called Vicktor Fage anyway.

Next show is at the Elbow Room on the 27th of July, 2002, in Yipsi-tuckey wit a bunch of bands dat we never heard of before.  It's kinda a long way out der, so we dunt 'spect ta see a'nun'a'ya'll out der.  But jus' in case ya duz show up....  wee'z be sooo glad ta see ya!!!

Well everybody, if you didn't make it down to the Rockery this last Saturday you didn't miss much.  Manics Rage and the Endz were in top form and really kept the night going.  We were dyin' to get it one and do some playin'!!  This was the first time in a while we played last.  We had allot of energy and were ready to go when it was our time.  Well we got up and played 4 or 5 rippin' renditions of some of our best material then........the old NAZI F*** that owns the place pulled the plug on us.  I guess we're a little to heavy for him.  Well F*** him.  Everybody was gettin' into the music and this little scrawny F*** just walks up and takes the mic from Stink and say that's it!  Wyandotte has got to be NAZI heaven.  We weren't breakin' anything and we weren't makin' a mess so I figure he jus' didn't like the content.  CENSORSHIP!!!  That is going to be the first and only time we play in Wyandotte.  There's just entirely too many NAZI's down there for me.  ONE!  And he owns the ROCKERY!

Our next show is at the Old Miami with the Farleys , Liquid Chicken and Victory Flag from Cleveland, on the 13th of July.  Hopefully see ya'll there.

Well hey everybody!!!  For a Paychecks show everything was ultra kewl wit last night.  I was kinda suprised!!!  We had a bit of a draw and so did some of da udder bands.  The only thing that really kinda sat real bad wit me wuz dat Paychecks over booked da night again and put a band called Cleftlip or Faceless or somtin like dat.  There wuz a big thing between dem and da Smashbandits an it wuz a 'bout who would take da early spot.  Dis udder band wound up goin' on at 9:00 and us Smashbandits an Liquid Chicken ruled da rest of da night.  An den da guy running da door said dat nobody came in to check out da Smashbandits.  I know dat's gotta be a mistake.  Those guys have a real solid chin-saw set that rivals about any real punk band out der.  They had a good little crowd up front, including us, that did some slammin' and a few udder things flyin' round.  Den da sound guy had da balls to tell dem dat dey had to pay $25 for him to do sound fer dem.  I just think dats wrong.  I know da sound guys gotta make a livin', but da Smashbandits had to of brought somebody in.  I would have paid cover at the door if I wouldn't have gotten' in fer free cause I'm in one of da bands.  Well what kin ya do?  We still had a good time and da Smashbandits were part of it!!!  They rock!  Liquid Chicken wuz dem typical selves!!  We love 'em!  Especially da Liquid Chicks!  An da She Mullet is still after Stink.  An' she got 'im too!!

Thanx for Bobby and Rick from Manics Rage for stoppen' on by and checken' out da show.  We'll be doin' a show wit dem next week at da Rockery in Wyandotte next week, on da 22nd of JulyCrazy Mark from da Endz put da show together.  If ya'll kin make it down der we highly encourage it.  Crazy Mark has always got hiz cameras goin' and ya never know when he'll put ya on Crazy Mark TV.  It'll surely be a cool show!!!  'Till den>>>>>

We finally settled on a show at Paychecks on the 15th of June with the Smashbandits and Liquid Chicken.  We go on first maybe around 10:00.  That sounds pretty good to me.  Next will be Smashbandits then Liquid Chicken will close out the night.  (I'm lookin' forward to the liquid chicks being there along with the SHE MULLET)  I'm running a bit late so I don't have all that much time or desire to put allot of words here.  If you get the online flyer you know enough to get there.  Hopefully we'll see ya there.....

Real  fast update here on our show's.  We are going to have to cancel the show with the Farley's and the SmashBandits this Friday, the 31st of May.  This was supposed to be at Scalici's down in Allen Park.  The Farley's and the SmashBandits are still going to be playing.  Sorry all.  There was to many scheduling conflicts.  We were really looking forward to doing this show.  We really got into the SmashBandits when we played with them our at the Elbow Room.  And we've never jammed wit da Farley's.  We still have a gig wit dem on the 13th of July at the Old Miami.  We're lookin' forward to that one.  Oh well.

Also our show with the Endz and Manics Rage on the 15th of June got canceled at the Berkley Front in (guess what?), Berkley.  I guess the show got double booked and we were the ones that did the double booking.  We're not sure what the Endz are trying to do, but a month is too long for us to go without playing a show.  We got with Manics Rage and we're trying to fit in another show at the Marz Bar in Eastpointe on Saturdya the 15th of June.  We'll find out more about this show maybe later this week.  We'll keep ya'll advised of what happenin'.

Well everybody, if we haven't said it before I'm going to say it now.  NYC is a great place to play and an even better place to pawty!!  Our CB's show was great.  As always we met allot of cool people and made some new NYC contacts.  We wish all our shows were this cool.  I could go on and on about how great it was but I won't.  If you aren't going to go out there to see us jam, go out there just to get into the hole NYC scene.  It blows away Detroit as a pawty town, hands down.  (There ain't no pawty like a Detroit pawty because a .........)(BULL CRAP!!!)

We plan on going back sometime in the near future.  A couple of the contacts that we talked to were real interested in having us back to do a couple of different shows.  There at CB's, and possibly even a festival there in Central Park.  Whatever the occasion, we're going back.  They loved us there.  We'll let y'all know what's goin' on when it comes down the pipe.  'Till then check out our "Details" page for up coming show.  C 'ya at the gig.

Well, like always, we're still making  progress with the CD.  After talking a lot of s*** about Stink here on the page.....(I'm really SORRY Stinky baby!!!!!) he really came thru and did some marathon clean up work and finished all his parts.  We have one more song to do some clean up work on then we're moving on to the backing vocals.  Psycho finished all the work on his 'puter, so its working the way its supposed to.  Were almost to the point where we can dump it to the 'puter and start doing the mix down.  This one has been a little more labor intensive that our first studio CD, 2001: A.P.O., but this one were doing everything.  Mike, over at Sound Trap Studio's really new what he was doing.  Things really sped along.  We're really doing this from scratch.  At the same time that we're recording we're finding out how to operate all the studio equipment that Psycho bought.  Hopefully this will be done soon.

How ya'll are?  CBGB's sis getting real close.  I know that allot of you aren't going to be able to make it.  I know allot wouldn't even consider coming to see us at all well screw you!  There is a way to check out the show though.  If you go to the CB's site and click on the cybercast thingy there in the center of the page, you might be able to check us out on a live cybercast that they do there all the time.  Here is the shortcut that I've made for you to go straight to the cybercast link CYBERCAST1.  And just in case there are two other links that also have streaming video during a show CYBERCAST2 and CYBERCAST3.  OK so now you don't have an excuse for saying "Well I couldn't find the link "Q"'.  Waaa.  You probably shouldn't be using a computer.  Check it out!!!  Hope to see ya'll on line.

April 21st, 2002

Hey everybody!  Another show, another blown P.A.  Yep!  The damn thing just couldn't handle the vocal power of Stink.  The thing luckily didn't go until near the end of our third set.  We tried to finish everything but it was a no go.  We had Chris Lawbreaker up there at the end our second set to do "the "X"" and "Wild One".  To bad we forgot to turn on his amp before he got on for "the "X"".  We got it figured out for "Wild One".  But we're glad he had the chance to git up there and do some jammin' wit us.  We had made plans to have Daniel Chicken git up and jamm wit us during "Rockin' in the Free World", but that was about the same time that our P.A. went during the third set.  It would have been cool but what can ya do?  Overall the night went pretty well.  We'll most definitely want to go back there again.  Don't know when though.  We're starting to get a pretty full schedule that is takin' us up thru the end of July.  Whatever.

Next show is going to be at CBGB's in NYC.  If any of ya'll can make it out there that would be real cool.  If not to see us, ya'll can just git into the scene.  It sure blows the hell out of the Detroit thing.  Detroit is so lame I don't even want to call it a scene.  Its just a "thing".  But its home.  And in NYC its a bit a of a novelty to have a Detroit punk band, so we actually go over pretty good there.  We'll keep ya'll advised of what's goin' on.  See ya at the gig.

I did a little oops here...  I sent out one of our online flyers and forgot to update the page.  I'll just make this a quick one.  We'll be playing this weekend, Saturday the 20th at the Mars Bar in East Pointe on 10 Mi just east of Hayes.  We'll be the only band out there this night.  We'll probably be havin' out some friends to come out and jamm wit us on stage doin' all your favorite Ballistics tunes.  The show is gonna start around 9:30 or 10:00, and we'll be doin' 3 sets.  Gotta go!!  See ya at the gig!

March 24th, 2002

Well there goes another Old Miami night.  This one turned out to be a good one.  Every other time we play there it seems to be great or a load of Sh**!!  This time we decided to play real early and just git on the stage before somebody came along and told us that we had to go on last.  Well I don't think that would have been the case.  The Place was pretty empty when we got on stage.  Then it seemed as soon as the Lawbreakers took the stage the place filled up.  They sounded really great that night.  I think it was the first time.  The Lawbreakers are really commin' along as a band.  Then ME-109, They were enen better.  Very high speed!  Sometimes I think were doing some fast music.  No frigen' way.  Those dude's.........???  Well then some other bands got up there and they sounded great too so we decided to leave.  The place was just fillin' up too much.  I don't think I've ever seen the Old Miami that full.  We (the Ballistics) had a good tight little show, but we played first.  We were totally sober, or near enough.  That was probably the first time.  Everybody was expecting us to go on latter so some people missed our show.  We had a few compliments and some people asked "Why did you guys play first?"  Somebody's got to.

Next show is actually a ways out.  Not distance ways.  I mean time wise.  We'll be playing at the Mars bar in Eastpointe.  We have the whole night to play with ourselves.  Three sets if you can imagine that.  We're going to try to git some special guest musician's to get up and jam wit us.  We don't know yet.  This show is going to be on the 20th of April.  Like always click on the "DETAILS" button above to git the map and address.  We'll see ya'll there.

Oh hey, Thanks for Stoppen' by, Bobby from Manics Rage.  When are we doin' a show???

March 17th, 2002

It seems so long since we played out.  I don't know why.  Our last show absolutely ruled.  The whole night was just a good night.  I know this next show is only an Old Miami night but I can already tell that there's going to be some crazy S*** goin' on.  Were going to make it an early one.  We don't want those out of town nobodies running the night so we're going to show up early and secure the stage.  After the Old Miami kind of ruined things for us by bringing in their own out of town bands we feel that it's our place to do what we want.  I want to send out an apology to Criminal Class for what happened.  Detroit clubs are really starting to git on my nerves.

Were going to be starting at about 9:00 pm or there abouts.  If we can push it back we probable will.  After that will be the Lawbreakers, and then ME-109.  ME-109 is a new band for us to jam with.  I was told over a year ago by the sound guy at Paychecks (another s*** hole double booking club) that we need to hook up with these guys and do a show.  Finally!  I've never heard them but my expectations are high.  Well, we'll be seein' ya there!!!

March 3rd, 2002

Well what another great show.  The Elbow Room was one of the best shows that I can remember us having.  The whole night rocked!  From the First band, the Chiodos bros, to the last WOLF and the Rhythm Section from HELL, we absolutely rock the house and raised the roof!!!!!  I wish all of our show were this great.  Thank again to the Lawbreakers for being there for us.  When you guys show up its always a good show.  Mike where are you?  And a special "THANKS for stoppen' by" goes out to the Smash Bandits.  Those guys are doing a great punk thing and I think they actually got into what were doing too.  We can hopefully hook up again and do some more jammen' sometime wit dose dudes.

Well next show is wit da Lawbreaker and ME-109 down at the Old Miami.  Witch by the way double booked the night. AGAIN!!!! so we had to cancel an out of town band that we were trying to bring into the place.  F*** IT!  Were still playing but the Old Miami is kind of on our S*** list right now.

The CD, is still coming' along pretty good.  We have all the drum tracks down and Dusty has finished all the bass parts.  All the Guitar parts seem to be done.  (All nice and grugly)  Stink has allot of work to do on all his screw ups,  (We're waiting on him like always) but we got all the time in the world to finish this up.  Its our studio so it ain't costin' us notin'.  We already have a CD out there so we'll probably put this one out there when we get close to selling out Digital Doo Doo.  We'll keep ya'll posted.

February 25th, 2002

Well our next show is commin' up real fast.  We'll be at the Elbow Room in Yiipsi-(Tuckey)-lanti.  We haven't heard the exact time that we're goin' on but we figure maybe first since this is the first time we've played there.  That will probably work out to around 10:00 p.m.    That's ok.  We have no excuse to sit around and get drunk.  Hopefully we'll see lots & lots of our fans there.  NOT!  I don't know who's going to be jammin' there with us.  It could be a polka band (or three)  for all we know.  If you want to know more about the show go to the web site for the Elbow Room.  There's a full schedule there.

February 17th, 2002

What a great night.  The New Way was a great little bar.  I love the wood paneling.  I think that was the real thing though.  The stuff we have down in our basement comes in 6" x 8" sections.  Everybody rocked the house and had a good time.  Some of the Lawbreakers had a little too good a time (A.J..) and got cut off.  The old guy that runs the place got a little pissed at his place being taken over by a bunch of punks.  He can do that though.  Its his place!  I don't think anybody got hurt and only one glass got broke that I could see, and I only saw the mop going into the bathroom once.  All told it was a good night.  Oh by the way, Liquid Chicken showed up and played there whole set.  Good goin'  They actually sounded great last night.  After the last no-show from them and the time we played with them out at Brandys (EVIL BAR!) I was a little bit worried but them came thru.  Mike Prevost from the Lawbreakers even said they sounded great.  Happy Birthday Mike!!!

Well next show is at the Elbow Room in Yipsi.  Hope to see lots of people there.  All these bars we play at say were a really good band I just can't figure out why nobody shows up when we gig out.  "Where's Our Fans?"  Whatever!!!!  See ya!

Well hopefully everything will go better for us at the New Way then it did at that crap bar Brandy's.  (Read on down under "OLD NEWS" for the story on what happened at Brandy's)  We've never played at the New Way before, so were s'pecting it to be pretty fresh.  We've all heard allot of good things about the place.  We'll be jammin' wit the Lawbreakers and Liquid Chicken.  This is a first  time there for all of us.  If ya'll need directions or additional details guess what????   Click on the "Details" link above for address, phone number and a map.  Oh!  Look what Liquid Chicken did for us (>>>>>cool huh<<<<<)  Thanx Guys!!!

February 3rd, 2002

Well if you weren't there at Brandy's in St Clair Shores, that was too bad for you.  Last nights show was a Jam!!!  The Lawbreakers were in the house playin' and sportin' a new CD "First Offence".  This was followed up by Peter Torque doin' some great power jams!!!  Keep an eye out for the CD that they got cummin' out real soon.  Then we closed out the night.  It was one of our better shows that we've done in a while and everything was going good 'til we got to playin' Coincidence.  Psycho got out and did his usual "Psycho's Ballet" up on a table.  We couldn't see everything that was going on but the next thing I saw was a big commotion out on the floor where I last saw Psycho.  Then I saw that he was the commotion.  Him and one of the bouncers.  I guess the bouncer didn't like the way Psycho was havin' a good time and decided to give him some crap.  The bouncer didn't have on any uniform to distinguish him from the general patrons so when he started pushin' Psycho around, Psycho didn't know him from Dick, and started pushin' the guy off.  The next thing we know is that they're draggin' Psycho out the door.  Stink calmed them down and our friends and the Lawbreakers helped Psycho back on to the stage where with a little blood smear on his face we finished out our set 10 minutes later with a screamin' punk rendition of "Rockin' in the Free World".  We figured it a was all over and then Psycho disappeared again.  I walked off the stage and started to head outside for some air when I saw that they (When I say they, I mean all the bouncers, There were about 4 or 5 there last night) had Psycho again and were draggin' him out the door again.  This was no crowd control thing these morons were trying to do, they were gangin' up on him, us and anybody else that was trying to calm things down.  Those dick head bouncers just kept pushin'  and pushin' and just wouldn't let up.  They were the most unprofessional group of frigg'n apes I've ever seen in a bar.  If they would have just let up a bit and ordered the offending parties to leave, it probably would have been over but they all were acting as the aggressors during the whole incident and never let up.   This was getting to be  assault and battery.  After it got outside they were trying to follow him outside to beat up on him some more.  All us Ballistics were outside by now trying to calm things down and most of the bouncers were outside also.  They were pushin' us all out and telling us to get out! and stay out!  I tried to tell this one bouncer that was standing near the back door that they couldn't do that because we, the Ballistics, put the show together and it was all our PA equipment that made the show possible and all of our individual equipment was still up on the stage.  This ass hole just open palmed me in the throat and pushed me away.  It had gotten way out of control.  I've never heard of any band getting this kind of treatment anyplace PERIOD!  At about this time the guy who does the booking came out and calmed his thugs down enough that a buddy of Psycho's, Adam, was able to pull him out of there and got him and his girl friend, Shawney, in his car and drive off.  He told his apes to let us back in to get our stuff and that was that.  We thru all our stuff in the boxes, under the sneering noses of those ass hole bouncers, and left post haste.

I know that this is only one incident in a whole city of incidents but we went out there to have a good time and do some playin' and those idiots that work for Brandy's totally ruined a great night of jammin'.  I know it gets a little crazy at our shows but to come under this type of brutal oppression while we're trying to supply some good entertainment is just beyond comprehension.  And even though we're up on stage, we don't always know what's going on 5 feet past the end of the stage.  And even if we could see everything, we're a little handicapped because were all kind of plugged into the stage.  I'm not going to go flying thru the audience with a custom built Strat hangin' around my neck to start any problems or go beat up on somebody.  With all the aggression that our music has its pretty much not directed at any individual, so any violence that is perceived by the non-participant or your standard onlooker is usually misunderstood.

What the staff a Brandy's did was totally uncalled for.  I don't see us going back there any time soon, if ever (even if they beg) and I'm sure to spread the word to as many people as I possibly can, that they should just stay away from there.  Not out of fear of getting beat up by the quality staff, but I'd really like to see that place go belly up from lack of business.

GOOD BY BRANDY'S!!!

Well how's the new year going?  We've had a few shows booked now for the last month or so and its about time to let everybody know what's going on.  We have a show at Brandys with Peter Torque and the Lawbreakers on the 2nd of February.  Then on the 16th of February we have a show at the New Way Bar with the Lawbreakers and Liquid (No-Show)(I mean) Chicken.  Then our final show that we have scheduled right now is at the Elbow Room in Yipsi on the 2nd of March.  We've played at Brandys before and it was a pretty good show, but we've never played at the New Way or the Elbow Room.  We've always heard good things about both places so our hopes are high.  The time is coming near for us to start thinking about doing another show at CBGB's again.  So keep your eyes open.  If you don't go there to see us just go to check out the N.Y. and the scene itself.  That will probably be about 2 to 3 month out at best.  We'll keep ya'll advised of da sit'chi'ashun.

Now for some Cd 'cordin' update.  We have a list put together and an order in witch they'll all be goin' but we haven't actually started any serious recording yet.  We've been practicing the crap out of all the songs that are going on the CD because we like to try to do everything live with a minimum of overdubs or fixing screw ups.  We did pretty good with the last CD, 2001:  A Punk Odyssey, and it turned out pretty good.  We don't fancy ourselves as a band that need to go thru the hole mastering process or go thru anybody to do our art work.  IF we can't make it fly we don't want our name on it.  We're even doing all the recording in our own studio.  All we need is for somebody to dup it out for us.  So as soon as we get the tracks down and arranged We'll do the art and hopefully get it duped by end of February.  It don't have to be a long, hard drawn out process.

January 1st, 2002

Well 2001 was another explosive year for the Ballistics.  2002 looks like it will be the year of the Ballistics.   Thanks Lawbreakers for commin' out and making the 2002 NYE party a fest to remember.  Hopefully Psycho ain't to mad about us trashing his studio in his house.  And thanks everybody for supporting us thru the year....  The list is to long to thank everybody.  All we can say is "Thanks for Stoppin' by".  See ya at the show!

Things are going to slow down a bit for the beginning of the year here.  January we're going to take it slow so we can work on our next studio CD.  Then we have 2 shows in February already scheduled but we're not ready to announce them yet.  Lets get thru the next few months first.

20 December, 2001

Well, what a friggen load of crap.  It appears that because the Labyrinth did not promote the benefit show down there tomorrow night, they did not get the charity support that they needed in order to put on the show.  In order to make the night more profitable for them they rented the hall out for a private party.  IN OTHER WORDS, THEY FRIGGEN CANCELED THE SHOW!!!!!  Well maybe next time.  More news when we get it.

O.K., it looks like we got the final news on the Labyrinth show next Friday, the 21st of December.  I wish I could tell you all exactly where the Labyrinth is but I'm going to have to hunt for it myself when we head down there,  I know its downtown Detroit under the Ramada Inn.  If your familiar with the old City Club, its in the same building.  There's going to be a band on at 8:00 then we go on at 9:00.  I don't remember the name of the first band.  I've never heard of them before.  This is going to be an ALL AGES SHOW.  So cum one, and cum all!!  The only thing wrong with this hole thing is that we're actually not playing with Hillside Stranglers and the Ruiners.  After we get done playing at around 10:00 or so there going to close the bar and kick out everybody under 21 then the Hillside Stranglers and the Ruiners are going to play.  Well, those guys still put on a great show.  If you can hang out and check them out.

9 December, 2001

What a weekend!!!  Thanks Lawbreakers for inviting us down to jam with you guys at the Mars Bar in Eastpointe.  It was a surprise thing.  We just showed up with our guitars and played about 30 minutes in the middle of their set.  And yes, they did invite us.  Everybody else in the bar was really surprised.  It was a good little diversion after dealing with all that stupid crap from Paychecks.  We don't know who to be pissed off at more.  The bar decided to can the hole show that we had put together a few months back because these heavy metal bands wanted to play there, and I guess they don't like punk bands.  Well we don't like heavy metal bands!!!  There always seems to be some stupid crap going on when we have to deal with a bunch of metal bands....they think they are better than everybody else and they just don't get into jammen and haven a good time.  There a little too serious for us.  Well we don't need them and we don't need Paychecks anymore.  I don't like canning a hole bar but what they did is a bunch of crap.  It might be along time before anybody sees us down in that S**t Hole!

We're still waiting to get more info on that  Labyrinth show on the 21st of December.  We're thinken that we'll be going on at about 8:00.  Yah we know its real early but hey.  WE DON'T CARE!!  It'll be fun!  We've never jammed with the the Ruiners or the HILLSIDE STRANGLERS.  So hopefully this will be a kewl show.  If anybody out there need more detail on this show,  be patient.  We'll git the info out there when we git it.

2 December, 2001

Well Brandy's is  a done deal.  We had a good time last night and Brandy's wants us to come back and headline some night.  They got a real nice stage down there.  It wouldn't be considered a classic punk hangout, but the place still rocks.  Our original intention was to go down there as a pre-audition (type thing) and get a spot on their stage for new years.  We'll see.  I've never seen Liquid Chicken get so drunk before.  Those guys are professional drinkers and I've never seen them play sober.  They've always put on a pretty good show.  They've always been a better draw than us also.  But last night (OOOPPPPSSSS) just a little to drunk.  Also I gotta say that one of the Liquid Chicks almost raped our singer.  Hey! mitts off he belongs to us.  Stink is all geeked up because he took the moral high road.  Strong man!  Maybe next time.  Thanks Brandy's for the fun night!!!

It looks as if we're going to cancel the show at Paychecks on the 8th of December.  We had the night all fixed up with the Lawbreakers, Liquid Chicken and us but the bar booked in 3 other band.  We don't want to be perceived as a bunch of rock stars but we as a band just don't want to deal with all the hassles that come with trying to get 6 band on and off the stage during the night.  It becomes too much of a fight.  All the bands want to run their own show and everybody starts bitching about their set time.  Well not us.  Its not worth the headache.  If Paychecks wants 6 band they have to go someplace else.  Liquid Chicken even said last night that they want to cancel.  We also spoke with the Lawbreakers they are still going to be there.  They spent too much time working on the flyer to just cancel.

We Have right now a penciled in show at the Labyrinth on Friday, December the 21st.  I think that we are going to be playing with the Ruiners and the Hillside Stranglers.  No set time has gone out yet.  This is supposed to be a benefit for "Toys for Tots".  Come on out, its for a good cause.  As we get more details for this show we'll keep you updated.
